Grogu Sitting on Mandalorian Helmet
This project I am really enjoying. Again it is a stamped cross stitch of Grogu sitting peacefully on a Mandalorian helmet. There’s something incredibly satisfying about watching him slowly emerge from the fabric, one stitch at a time. With stamped cross stitch, the design is already printed onto the cloth, which makes it easy to relax into the rhythm of stitching without constantly checking a chart. It allows me to focus on the colours, the texture, and the quiet transformation happening beneath my needle.
Earlier progress.
Grogu is the character popularly known as “Baby Yoda,” though he is not actually a young Yoda. He is, in fact, a 50-year-old infant of the same species and captured hearts in The Mandalorian. Before his name was revealed in season two of The Mandalorian, he was simply called “The Child.” He is Force-sensitive, curious, and deeply expressive, which makes him a perfect subject for cross stitch. His oversized ears, wide eyes, and tiny hands translate beautifully into thread, giving the piece both character and warmth.
What I love about this project is watching his personality take shape. At first, it was just blocks of colour—greens and browns. But as the stitches build, his expression becomes clearer. I am getting closer to the cool metallic shades of the helmet.
Stamped cross stitch makes this process especially enjoyable because it removes the pressure of counting every stitch. Instead, I can simply sit down and add a little more to him. It’s calm, creative, and very rewarding.
Each session brings him closer to completion, and I find myself looking forward to the next time I can sit down, pick up my needle, and spend a little more time with Grogu as he quietly takes shape in thread.
Full progress so far:

At times its tricky which to choose to work on. When one is so busy, and wants to do everything at once, that just doesnt work. 🙂
